“I learnt the importance of good communication skills and also the work place language.
In addition, I adopted a growth mindset hence i have been able to work in different sections, and also learnt other things different from my specialty.
I learnt to be proactive always by giving solutions but not escalating problems. I became a much better leader! Soon after the Experience, I secured his current job from one of the Lapid Leaders Employment Partners. These leadership skills also enabled me to be promoted fast and to get many more opportunities within the organisation I am working.”

“The Lapid Leaders Experience gave me a head start in the job application process. I knew how to sell myself on paper for the jobs I applied for. When I showed up for interviews, as a result of thorough preparation, I could match the person on paper to who I am.
I polished my CV with every Career Preparedness Bootcamp I was part of. The Mock Interviews built my confidence and when I finally showed up I was able to articulate well my skills and leverage the experience I had gained over time.”
Soon after completing his term in the Lapid Leaders Council, Isaac Maritim got hired by CitiBank as a Client Service Officer. He has since transitioned into entrepreneurship. Join the upcoming Cohort for an opportunity to polish your leadership, relationship building and interview skills.
“My greatest challenge before the Lapid Leaders Experience was how to prepare for an interview especially on the behavioral kind of questions.
The Experience helped me figure out job search techniques as well as preparation of an interview. They take you through the whole process i.e, CV writing, communication skills/personal branding and mock interviews, where they invite different HR managers from the different company’s. This was an eye opener to me, as I was able to get feedback on what I did well and what I needed to improve on.
Through these skills , I was able to secure myself an internship in one of the distinguished IT company’s in Kenya. Lapid has helped me to excel in my work place by observing the necessary work ethics, and performing my work diligently. This has translated to my contract being extended where i hope to absorbed in the same company in the long run.
Everyone should join. Lapid equips you with the necessary skills employers are looking for. It also helps build grit, improve communication skills, through story telling meet-ups and class sessions and also build on interpersonal skills.
Lastly, lapid is fun💥💥you make great friendships, you network, as well as meet some of the most incredible people known to many in the country. Among them was Dr. Wale, Wallace Kantal and Denis Gikunda….. Amazing guests👌” @evenguyo
“The experience helped me to find out what the interviewer wanted to see and hear and to prepare myself for that. I learnt that an interview is like a sales pitch where you pitch yourself as the product. I learnt to sell myself without looking proud or arrogant. Learn how to make, build and maintain relationships. They go beyond your work. They make people trust you and in what you can do. I also learned to constantly question what I stand for and believe in. That informs why you make the decisions you do”
Soon after the Experience, Sheroe Wa Mburu got hired by KPMG as a Financial Analyst. Join the upcoming Cohort for an opportunity to polish your relationship building and interview skills. To sign up, call us on +254720359840. #JoinTheTribe #BeExtraordinary#VoicesOfLapiders
The greatest challenge that I faced before taking part in the Lapid Leaders Experience was how to present myself before interviewers. I was always nervous and lacked true confidence due to last minute research and doubting that I would get the job. The communication sessions taught me to be intentional in job seeking.
I got clear about the industries I wanted to work in and aligned my acquired skills to a communications/marketing department. In so doing, I was clear about who I am and what I have to offer. I then naturally grew more confident in presenting myself both verbally and non-verbally.”
Soon after the Bootcamp Anne Nasumba got her current job, and while she had applied for an internship, she aced the interview and the employer immediately decided that she was better suited for the permanent job. She has also been promoted within the organisation due to her strong leadership skills and high work ethic, values that were imparted in her during the Experience.
